August Bank holiday,
I treated myself and my Mum to a Spa day at the Soholistic Spa in the Ham Yard Hotel, London. I wanted to do something special for my Mum but also need to relax myself after what has been a stressful time. I knew it because the skin on my face was so sore, red and painful on either side of the nose and around the mouth. No amount of Piriton and usual moisturiser was helping, my sleep was awful as it was so itchy and I did not want to turn to steroid cream. I knew it was partly psychosomatic and I just needed to calm down.
Thank you Soholistic spa, thank you Shirin (head therapist) and thank you Begonia (my therapist for the day). On arrival, we were greeted in a particularly warm and welcoming fashion. The ambience was calming. Shirin showed us around and made us feel relaxed before the treatment had even started. I then had my full body signature massage with Begonia. I showed her the skin on my face just because it tends to make me feel better if the person I’m speaking to knows the reason for why I’m looking red and angry! Begonia was nothing but wonderful. She incorporated a facial massage in with the body massage, introducing me to the ‘Temple Spa’ range of products, the ‘Repose resting cream’ specifically. The face massage felt soothing. After the treatment, Shirin and Begonia were so kind, they didn’t try to sell any product to me but rather expressed interest in wanting to help. They put together a pot of the reform moisturiser for me to go home with and I’ve been using it twice a day for the last week. The aromas in this aromatherapy resting cream, including jojoba and frankincense seems to have made a marked difference. I feel the essential oils have helped me to sleep at night, whilst working their magic to calm the irritability. A 50 mL bottle is priced at £39, sold in a few places only, including the spa itself and Harrods. I will be purchasing this item once the very generous tester amount is finished.
I look forward making another trip to Soholistic and will obviously be requesting Begonia again! Check out the before and after photos:
